Since january 21st, the Top Teams of Magestorm have been fighting the Magestorm Guild League on the Mythic Realms server, and the first tourney in the level range of 10-30 for a long time.

SoLD's MGL representative still is our Warlord Andi.

There have been some severe changes lately:

  • Due to easter weekend, all matches have been postponed by one week. The week 13 matches are now scheduled for 30th Apr - 6th May.
  • DP (Dark Plague) and DoD (Dealers of Death) disbanded and so withdrew from the MGL. All matches count as auto-win for their opponents.
  • Later MC disbanded as well.
  • Banned for 1 month (~ rest of the MGL): AoW (Angels of Wrath), WK (Wild Knights) and MoH (Mages of Honor)

vs. Terror Squad in Roarc Catacombs

We managed to break in to the TS shrine several times, but they always threw our offense out of there. Most of the TS players were playing on defense anyway and walled our offense team. So in the end, another draw for SoLD and TS.

While many SoLD were working and couldn't make it to the match, SF still was seriously outnumbered, so it didn't take us long to win this match.

vs. Wild Knights in Thunder Keep

WK showed up with many many healers. They had like 5 25+ healers in the red shrine area. Both teams managed to hurt the enemy shrine over and over for the duration of the whole match. It was great fun, best match most of us played so far and I guess I wont play a better the next months.
We attacked them with 2 healers, a ment and a mage, it was nearly unpossible to kill them or to hold the shrine down for long enough, alot of DKs and paras where flying around. But after 54 minutes some of their clerics must left their shrine and we could get it down and hold it.
Again... Thanx for that great match, we will never forget it, was great fun... :)

vs. Angels of Wrath in Roarc Catacombs

The first thing to happen in this match was the SoLD defense being booted, and the offense being beaten up by the AoW players. The SoLD team waited for Aquila to get back into the game, then grouped together and attacked a second time, killed off AoW's high offense chars, then broke through the walls and killed the Chaos shrine. in minute 7 of the game.

vs. Dark Plague in Cathedral of Light

There weren't many DP members, only 5 in the range of 15, so we played with the chars we wanted and decided to only use low level spells like ID2 and such; but DP had biased their hpool during the first 5 min. We said it was okay and that we still wanted to have the match. We wanted to give them and us a bit of fun but somehow their shrine went down during the first minute of playing :( and the match was over.

vs. Apocalypse in Cathedral of Light

Week 4's match was postponed and played in week 5 due to the Town of Sirama wall bug. So we played the match in the Cathedral.

AP had walled their shrine room and a lot of APers voided or minded us while we where trying to break in. It wasnt that easy but after approximately 30 minutes we managed to get in and killed the shrine and waited till the countdown went off.

vs. Guild of the Dragons in Roarc Catacombs

The evening was haunted by bad lag. A minimum of 4 players was booted, there were lag walls, graphical errors and so on.
The game was dominated by heavy battles for the pools and few effective attacks. The GotD offense broke through our walls and shrined us several times. Nevertheless the game ended like it did last MGL: we tied.

vs. Society of the Bitter Rose in Cathedral of Light

This match was a pain. First, half of the players started in valhalla. Then, one of SoLDs offense clerics was walled in the enemy's walls for almost the entire game. Heavy battles took place around the center pool, making it hard fo the offense to organize some good attacks. At mark 33:00 the SoLD team managed to break through and keep the chaos shrine down.
